Watch For These Unique Birds In the Tropics
There are some unique beautiful birds that you should watch for if you are in the Tropics. Many of them are hard to find but if you see them, you will have the joy of knowing that you have seen a rare and beautiful bird.
The Scarlet Macaw is native bird in the American tropics. This bird is found in Mexico to Peru, Bolivia and Brazil. The macaw feathers have bright primary colors. The macaw has bright sharp colors as well as softer colors.
The lilac breasted roller is found in Africa and the southern Arabian Peninsula. It lives in the woodland and savanna area. This tiny bird has some of the cooler colors like the blue, purple, brown, green, and red. The bird is generally found alone or in pairs. It will sit on the tops of the trees so it can see insects, lizards, and other small critters to catch.
The golden pheasant is found in the mountain areas of western China. Occasionally you can also find this bird in the United Kingdom. The bird has a unique golden crest and a red body. The face, throat, and the neck of this bird are reddish tan. They feed on the ground on grain, berries, and seeds. They roost in trees at night. They can fly but generally do not. If they do fly, they tend to lack skill while in flight.
The flamingo is a beautiful tropical bird. Some of the flamingo species are found in the Americas. The flamingo has only pink in color. The birds have very long legs which also are pink. The flamingo has beautiful eyes that are yellow in color.
Kingfishers are smaller brightly colored birds. Many of these birds are found in Australia. The Kingfisher is made up of many different colors. These birds have colors of oranges, blue, green, red and other bright colors.
